The SEO Challenge with Meg Casebolt.
This challenge is all about helping you find the keywords you need to target with your content in order to attract more traffic to your website.
The first video shows you how to find ideas for keywords you might want to target using search tools like ecosia and Google’s “site search” option. Meg shows you how to find what’s ranking right now so you know where you can end up once you start focusing on your SEO.
The second video starts with another keyword search tool—Ubersuggest—to find your keywords as well as the search volumes for those keywords so you can see which ones might be easier to rank for. You can do something similar with other tools found at AnswerthePublic, Moz or Ahrefs. Better still consider using all three to get a more comprehensive view of what to focus on.
Video 3 is all about writing SEO titles and meta descriptions to increase your chances of showing up on Google. Meg points out that this isn’t just for our own sites, but works for our client’s sites as well. She also mentions this Title Tag Counter tool to help you fit your titles into the character requirements. Finally Meg mentions making your meta descriptions as appealing as possible (something that should come easily to you as a copywriter).
Note: at the end of the videos, Meg mentions an Airtable form to submit your work. That form is no longer active, but you should still do each homework assignment so you can get the promised results.
All right, let’s get to it…
