Lesson 2: The Authority Framework

 

ROB: Let’s start by talking about the three elements you need to create real authority… or celebrity.

The first is expertise… this is the stuff you know, your skillset, your experiences, the things you can talk about for hours, and the work you do. It includes deep knowledge about your niche—things a generalist wouldn’t know without spending hours doing in-depth research or working for clients for months in your niche. Expertise is all about solving big problems and creating real value for your clients. It’s far more than “wordsmithing” or even “writing copy.” And if you don’t have some kind of expertise, you need to develop it before moving on to the next two buckets that build you authority.

 

KIRA: The second celebrity building element is trust. Trust comes from sharing your expertise successfully over and over again.. And not disappearing for days or even weeks. It comes from delivering on what you say you’ll do. From helping solve problems for your clients and helping them create more value in the world. The more you do to create value and deliver on your word, the more trust you’ll earn.

 

ROB: And the third element of the authority blueprint is visibility. Once you have expertise, solve problems with that knowledge and deliver on your promises, you need to share that success with the world—maybe not the whole world, but with others in your industry or niche at the very least. You need to show up where your ideal prospects and clients can hear about your success and the value you create.
